Neighbour

子曰:「己所不欲,勿施於人」

This generation has lost what it means to have neighbours. An abundance of connections – many of which are superficial – means degeneration of commitment. Yet we are still human, and it’s not as if you can just up and move to a designated neighbourhood with people who ‘share’ your values.
Is that even desirable? That is fragmentation by its very definition. The wonder of the United States and the wisdom of its Founding Fathers is the delicate balance between the states and the country.

“For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”

– Galations 5:14
